So, I haven't been very active on DA at all. Partly it's because I never really felt like a huge part of this community and so I had no motivation, and partly because I really have nothing at all to contribute. I haven't done art in such a long time, and the art that I have done is fanart. Which I hate to submit to DA, in all honesty, because it completely overshadows my original artwork, which I spend more time on than the bulk of my fanstuff!

Oh, well.

In life updates, I'm mere months away from graduating university. I have a steady job as an IT tech-type person at a travel agency. I am looking to moving up to Seattle after graduation... maybe land a job at Microsoft? Haha. My heart's really set to moving to London, but I rather think that I would be able to do that. I need job experience and life experience and I refuse-- absolutely refuse-- to ever be a shop girl again. I'm through with retail and everything related. I'm almost a professional now. My feet can't take it, and I feel annoyed having to be all perky all the time. It's easy for me, but still quite a feat to pull off on a not-so-great day.

I've been not-working on my website. I don't know why it's so hard for me. I've grown, I guess, a bit from actually using my art as the layout. I want it simple and clean and yet immediately representative of my personal aesthetic... which is proving to be a hard look to pull off. I keep teetering between three or so designs. And it's frustrating. And also, I'm running low on content in the first place because of my lack of productivity (due to school and work, and not laziness ;() and lack of presentable work.

On the bright side, I know precisely how I want to organise my gallery, which I suppose counts for something.

Um. What else? I will probably be pulling all of my fanart from here in a bit. I'm tired of my inbox flooded with favourites on Slytherin Harry. And don't get me wrong, I like that it's so well-received (even if it only took me like... 30 minutes? compared to what I feel are personal masterpieces in my gallery??? hahaha), but coming to DA to see 200 fave messages for the same old piece isn't fun. I wish they had a way to turn off fave notifications for pieces over a certain age. I'll take the comments, but I don't really care when people fave my work-- I care much more when people say something about it (provided it's not something useless like, "I don't like how you drew the lips"). And I'm just done with fanart in general, save for the few commissions I have left and might take in the future. But from now on fanart will probably go on my site.

I'm working hard though. I have lots of ideas to kick off the new year, once I'm finished with commissions, that is.
